The helipad enables patients requiring urgent treatment to be transferred to and from the hospital more rapidly. The facility makes Eastbourne DGH the most accessible landing site for air ambulance and other emergency helicopters of any hospital in Sussex.

It can now accept helicopters both day and night from Air Ambulance, Police, Coast Guard, Air-sea Rescue and the military and has been designed to accommodate the largest regularly visiting military helicopter the AgustaWestland EH101 Merlin. The new pad has enhanced poor weather and night-time lighting, including landing lights and an illuminated wind sock.

One recent example is this extension to a house in the Sussex village of Alfriston. We have gained Conservation Consent, Planning and Building Regulations Approval and construction is about to commence. The extension is needed as a workshop for our clients passion, designing and making gold, silver, and enamel jewellery.

Listed Building Approval was granted in December 2010 making a perfect Christmas present for our clients.

Planning approval has been held back because the presence or otherwise of Great Crested Newts (a protected species in the UK) has to be established in ponds within a 500m range of the application site. Not surprisingly with the recent snow and freezing weather this has to be an exercise postponed until the New Year.

Wealden District Council Planning Authority is willing to extend the application time frame in the current exceptional circumstances.
